Got a phone call this morning that another granchild got their drivers license. How scarey is that. We have 8 and half are driving and the other half can't wait.
I remember when my kids got theirs, and I was apprehensive about them leaving the house and coming back safely. But that is a preview of them actually leaving the nest and part of becoming adults and us allowing them to do it. Wow now my kids are going through that process. When they are little you teach them to ride a bike and run next to them and let go and watch them take their share of spills. It is not much differant then them leaving the nest and you have to stand by and let them do the same in life. At some point you have to let go of the bike, just like at some point you have to let them go in life.
GOD gave us our kids to raise up and feed and cloth them and teach them right from wrong. at some point we have to turn them over to HIM to shape them and mold them into the persons they will become. But if we keep saving them everytime they have a trial they will not grow. So we learn early to let go of the handlebars and trust that we did the best we could. and "PRAY ALOT" Football coach Vince Lombardi once said," It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get back up." Life has a lot of ups and downs but keep getting back up and you'll get the reward.

That is so true it is hard to let go but we half to or they will not make it through life but once in a while we can be the buffer in the wind to give the strenght they need from some of the life lessons we have learned and just to let them know we will be there if needed ,not be used .Love them and let them grow with their life lessons.
at least you have a while to go until the GREAT GRAND KIDS start driving ;)
