EASTER SUNDAY

Today was Easter Sunday, and a beautiful day. Normally we are surrounded by family and food (way too much food) but today the kids all had their own plans and We went to church with Rosalie to "SONRISE " service and a pot-luck breakfast and regular service. Came home and vegged out watching tv . Sometimes u need a quiet day just the two of us.

Kathy is going through her little empty nest because now that Miranda turned 18 she has decided to move into her boyfriends house. so she was the last of the little birdies to leave the nest. I remember what that was like. Believe me it was hard at first. but life goes on and after a while it's like" ok come visit, don't stay tooooo long then go home. haha Really that's what we are suppose to do as parents is to teach them to stand on their own and then let them go.

When our kids were growing up I was busy with them and vern was busy with work. so when they left home, he and I didn't know how to communicate as a couple and had to learn to talk, and interact. That's wrong. now I look back and see where we should have taken time for each other all along. The kids are important but they do grow up and leave and where does that leave our relationship if we don't work on it before that?

We just celebrated our 42nd aninversary and It was hard for a while but we grew closer together as the time went by. The bible says when a man and woman get married they become one. but I think it really means that u become one after time of growing together by trial and error, and faith and trust.
There is a scripture in Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 that says: ""Two are better then one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up, Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep each other warm, but how can one be warm alone?. And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.""
The cord of three is husband, wife and God. I believe our marriage has lasted so long because we have included GOD in it and HE has strengthened us and has made us strong..
